Obituary for Ward W. Kenyon

Ward W. Kenyon, 84, of Lake Placid went to be with his Lord on Monday morning September 14, 2015 at the Kenilworth Care and Rehabilitation in Sebring. He was the son of Ruth M. Fuller and Nathan L. Kenyon who was born on February 25, 1931 in Great Barrington, MA. He served is country with honors in the US Army during Korean War. Ward retired from Kimberly Clark Paper with thirty-one years of employment making paper products. He moved to Lake Placid in 1991 from Massachusetts. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved to be around his family and friends. Mr. Kenyon was a member of the orchid society American Legion Placid Post 25 and Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Placid. Mr. Kenyon is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Emma; daughters Linda J. Kenyon and Kathleen A. Wood (John); son, W. Stephen Kenyon (Jamie); three grandchildren, Meghan E. Kenyon, Danielle L and Catlin E. Wood; 2 great-granddaughters, Isabella Soto and Kaylee Phillips and a brother, Charlie Kenyon (Sandy) of Pittsfield, MA. A service to celebrate Ward’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the Trinity Lutheran Church 25 Lakeview Street, Lake Placid with Rev. Richard A. Norris officiating. Military honors will be presented by the VFW Post 4300 Honor Guard. The family suggests donations in Ward’s memory to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation 383 Main Avenue 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851.
