Mildred I. Neer “Millie”, 99, of Lake Placid went to be with her Lord on Wednesday morning November 12, 2014 at the Lake Placid Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on June 20, 1915 in Kosciusko County, Indiana to parents Viola Fay (Fawley) and William A. Schooley. Mrs. Neer moved to Lake Placid 27 years ago from Warsaw, Indiana where she was the Past President of the American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Neer enjoyed entertaining her friends, playing a good game of cards and loved spending time with both her family and friends. Mrs. Neer was a member of the American Legion in Warsaw and the Faith Baptist Church in Lake Placid. Mrs. Neer is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Barbara Hyde; sons, Ronnie, Billy and Don Grubbs; a grandson; sisters, Clara Parker and Fern Reichard. Millie is survived by her loving husband of 57 years Fred “Porky”; daughters, Mary Grubbs and Bonnie Cleveland; son, Norman Grubbs (Brenda) all of Lake Placid, FL, step-daughter, Carol Bidic; step-son, Danny Neer both of Warsaw, IN; daughter-in-law, Jane Grubbs of Warsaw; 13 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 34 great-great grandchildren. A funeral service to celebrate Mrs. Neer’s life will be held 11:00 AM Monday, November 17, 2014 at the Faith Baptist Church 660 Holmes Avenue Lake Placid with Pastor Bill Cole officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service time. Further service and burial will be held in Warsaw, IN.
