Bernice H. O’Neill, 87, of Lake Placid, went to be with her Lord early Friday morning October 28, 2011 at the Southern Lifestyles. She was born on February 24, 1924 in Allentown, PA to parents Roscoe and Stella (Katkoski) Weiss. She worked for Grumman Aircraft during WWII where she helped in manufacturing planes for the US Navy. She retired for Broward General Medical Center in the insurance billing department and moved to Lake Placid in 2009 from Coral Springs, FL. Mrs. O’Neill enjoyed bowling and family sporting events and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and family friends. She was a member of the St. James Catholic Church in Lake Placid. Mrs. O’Neill is survived by her loving children; Christine Woodall (Robert), Karen DeFelice (Carmen), Kevin O’Neill (Pam) and Walter O’Neill, Jr., 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, sister; Loretta Ptak (Walter) and a brother; James Weiss (Grace). A service to celebrate Bernice’s life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday November 5, 2011 at the Southern Lifestyle 1297 US 27 North lake Placid with Father Richard Seifferly celebrating.
