Carl William Thormann, 70, of Lake Placid went to be with his Lord on Sunday evening February 1, 2015 at his residence. He was the son of Melvina Olson and Guerdon Thormann who was born on January 14, 1945 in Platteville, WI. Carl served his country with honors in the US Army. After being discharged Mr. Thormann went to work with General Motors in Janesville, WI and retired in 1998. Carl moved to Lake Placid from Wisconsin in 2000. Carl was a member of the Lake Placid Moose Lodge 2374 and he was of the Lutheran faith. Carl enjoyed competition shooting with his pistols at Extreme Sports Gun Range in Sebring, fishing, woodworking, playing on his computer and loved spending time with his family and friends. Carl is preceded in death by his three
brothers Guerdon “Sonny”, Everett “Pat” and Clifford Thormann and is survived by his two loving daughters Amy Thormann and Holly Harris; two grandchildren, Ashley and T.J. Harris; two sisters, Kathy Rupp and Julie Thormann; two brothers, David and Paul Thormann and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate Carl’s life will be held at the Lake Placid Moose Lodge later this month.
