Elizabeth Vargo
Elizabeth Vargo, 95, of Fayetteville, TN formerly of Lake Placid went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday evening October 5, 2013 in Fayetteville. She was born on March 21, 1918 in Kalamazoo, MI to parents Julia (Nemeth) and Boldizar Torok. She moved to Lake Placid in 1980 from Kalamazoo where she worked in the food industry and was a retired supervisor for the BeMo Foods potato chip plant. Elizabeth moved to Fayetteville in 2009 to be with her daughter. She was a member of the Old Paths Baptist Church in Fayetteville, and the Red Hats in Lake Placid. Mrs. Vargo enjoyed cooking, canning, ceramics, crocheting, painting pictures and decorating her home and loved spending time with her family especially her grand and great grandchildren. Mrs. Vargo is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years Steve and is survived by her loving children; Esther J. Dahnke (Walt), Stephen M. Vargo (Nancy); 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. A funeral service to celebrate Mrs. Vargo’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday October 11, 2013 at the Scott Funeral Home, 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid with a visitation one hour prior to services. Celebration services will be conducted by Walt Dahnke. Entombment will follow at the Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Avon Park. The family suggests donations in Mrs. Vargo’s memory to the Old Paths Baptist Church 2934 Huntsville Highway Fayetteville, TN 37334.
