Grisel Maria Vazquez, 38, of Lake Placid passed away suddenly at her residence on Sunday January 22, 2012. A native Floridian Grisel was born in Miami on February 23, 1973 to parents Juan S. and Grisel (Muniz) Vazquez. She was an office manager for a communications software company. Grisel has been a resident of Lake Placid for the last several months coming from Chicago and was a member of the St. James Catholic Church in Lake Placid. Grisel is survived by her loving parents Grisel and Juan Vazquez, Sr., sister; Maria Antonia Thornton, brother; Juan Vazquez, Jr., niece; Emily Maria, nephews; Brian Christopher, Paul Anthony and John Ethan and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM Friday January 27, 2012 at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W. Interlake Blvd. Lake Placid. Following the visitation a Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Grisel’s life will start at 5:00 PM at St. James Catholic Church 3380 Placid View Drive Lake Placid with Father Michael Cannon celebrating.
