Gloria Kathryn Warrick, 89, of Lake Placid went to be with her Lord on Wednesday night January 6, 2016 at the Lake Placid Health and Rehabilitation Center. The daughter of Berniece White and Otto Heiman, she was born on February 17, 1926 in Chicago, IL. A graduate of the University of Miami, Mrs. Warrick was a retired high school English teacher in the Broward County School System. After retiring, she moved to Lake Placid in 1999 and was the owner of the Quilt Shop. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church Lake Placid. Mrs. Warrick enjoyed quilting and loved spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Warrick is preceded in death by her loving husband Alfred. She is survived by her loving children Laurie Bradley, Mickie Smith, Roger Warrick and John Warrick; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and a sister, Kay Wells. A funeral service to celebrate Mrs. Warrick’s life will be held 12 noon, Monday, January 11, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church Lake Placid 118 North Oak Avenue with Rev. Ray Cameron officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
