Obituary for Jean Marie Theobald

Jean Marie Theobald, 80, of Lake Placid went to be with her Lord on Sunday afternoon January 24, 2016 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring.

Mrs. Theobald was born on June 11, 1935 in Pittsburgh, PA to parents Ethel Grace and Carl Fromholzer. Jean and her husband Pete moved to Lake Placid in 1987 from West Palm Beach. Jean was a classical pianist, who enjoyed the opera, doing arts and crafts, shopping, and anything to do with turtles. She especially loved being with her family. Jean was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church in Lake Placid and the Lake Placid Women’s Club.

Jean is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Peter Theobald. She leaves behind 6 loving children. Carl and wife Judy of Mooresville NC, Mark of Thousand Oaks CA, Diane Earnest of Fountain Inn SC, Eric and wife Ellen of Loxahatchee, FL, Dean and wife Rhonda of Orlando, FL, and Paula Wong and fiancée Ed Hoffman of Jacksonville, FL. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren Jason Byrd and wife Kristen, Dr. Laura Torok and husband Joseph, Cassandra Southwood and husband Levi, Jessica Stehr and husband, Matt, Brandon and Cameron Wong, and Catherine and Deanna Theobald. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren. Chloe, Clara, Natalie, Maren, Zoey, Leo and Christopher.

A service to celebrate Jean’s life will be held Saturday, January 30 at 11:00 AM at the St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church, 43 Lake June Road, Lake Placid with Rev. Elizabeth Nelson officiating. Words of comfort to the family can be shared through this online guestbook.
