Lois J. Woodin, 93, of Lake Placid passed away on Friday, January 8, 2016. She was born in West Haven, CT on May 3, 1922 and graduated from West Haven High School in 1940. By train, she traveled to Ventura, CA to elope and marry Douglas H Woodin, Sr; Navy Seabee in 1944. She moved to Pompano Beach, FL in 1956 where she was a loving mother and homemaker to six children. She enjoyed sewing and bowling. After retirement, she moved to Lake Placid in 1983 where she spent much time fishing, painting ceramics and bingo. Of the Christian faith, Lois loved to spend time with family and friends. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years Doug, daughter, Linda J. Woodin; son, Douglas H. Woodin Jr.; grandson, Bret Cox and brother Edward Williams. Lois is survived by her four children, Nancy Misiak, Sheryl Fisher, Richard Woodin and Victoria Molinari. She had 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service to celebrate Lois Woodin’s life will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday, January 15, 2016 at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid with Rev. Lawrence Boan officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be one half hour prior to service time. Entombment will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
