Obituary for Tuure K. Salomaa

Tuure K. Salomaa, 85, of Lake Placid went to be with the Lord on Friday morning
May 20, 2016 at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring, FL. Tuure was born
June 6, 1930 in Vesilahti, Finland. He was the son of Toini (Alanen) and Tauno Salomaa. Mr. Salomaa was a retired Diplomat with the United Nations. He served many years in the Lake Worth Finnish Community as a translator and teacher. He was of the Lutheran faith and a resident of Lake Placid for the past 15 years before moving here from Lake Worth. Tuure was an avid reader and loved to spend time with his family and friends especially his dog Lilly. Mr. Salomaa is preceded in death by his loving son Pertti Salomaa. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Nadja; daughter, Irene Sposato; three grandchildren; three sisters and one brother. Private services for the family will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements entrusted with the Scott Funeral Home.
