Obituary for Margaret Moriarity Genovese

Margaret Moriarity Genovese passed away October 4, 2016 at the age of 100. Margaret received loving care as a resident of Lake Placid Health Care Center and from her grandson Robert Moriarity, his wife Lisa and her daughter-in-law Barbara Moriarity. Margaret was born June 30, 1916 in Lostant, IL to George Chambers and Mamie (Durbin) Chambers. She married Harold Moriarity of Utica, IL on June 20, 1936. After Harold passed away in 1978, Margaret moved to Lake Placid, Fl to be near her son Charles Moriarity and family. On July 22, 1989 she married John Genovese at the Lake Placid Elks #2661. This was the first wedding ever held at the Lodge. Margaret was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Mary's Parish in Utica, IL and the St. James Catholic Church in Lake Placid, Fl. She was also a member of the Ladies of the Elks Lodge #2661. Margaret truly enjoyed life and loved being with her family and friends. Anyone that knew her loved her. Margaret is survived by her older brother Darrell Chambers of Peru, IL, her daughter-in-law Barbara Moriarity of Lake Placid, Fl, seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, eleven great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both spouses Harold Moriarity and John Genovese, her two sons Charles Moriarity of Lake Placid, Fl. and Gerald Moriarity of Sebring, Fl., two brothers George Chambers of Varna, IL, Lyle Chambers of Lostant, IL, her sister Phyliss Easton of Minnesota and one granddaughter Lynda (Moriarity) Martin of LaSalle, IL. A Memorial mass will be held at St. James Catholic Church on Thursday, October 20th at 9:00am. Scott Seawinds Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. There will also be a Memorial mass held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at St Mary's Parish in Utica, IL at 5:30 pm.
