Obituary for Dennis J. Napel

Dennis J. Napel, 77, of Davenport, Iowa and Lake Placid, FL passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning November 8, 2016 at the Florida Hospital Lake Placid. Dennis was the son of Marion and John Napel, who was born on August 6, 1939 in Ironwood, MI. Dennis retired from John Deere as a Metallurgical Engineer and worked as a part-time consultant at Donohoo Steel Treating Company. Dennis has been a winter resident of Lake Placid for the past 12 years. As an avid golfer, his greatest achievement was his hole-in-one and golfed his age on his 69th birthday. He loved to be around his family and many friends in Davenport and Lake Placid. Dennis was of the Catholic faith and he was a long-time member of Holy Family Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Judy; children, Roberta (Steve) Weis, Davenport, Dennis P. (Violeta) Napel, Naples and Renee (Mitch) Stukey, Bonita Springs; Grandchildren Ashley (Cory), Kevin and Alex (Molly) and his soon to be born first Great-Grandson. He is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Lynne and sister Mary Ann Francoeur. A service to celebrate Dennis’s life will be held 1:30 PM, Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid. Further services and a Mass of Christian Burial will take place next spring in Davenport. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Dennis’s name to your favorite charity
