Obituary for Robert E. Barrett

Robert E. Barrett, 89, of Lake Placid went to be with his Lord on Thursday morning at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring. Robert was the son of Mary (Creedon) and John Hoytt Barrett and was born in Hudson, Massachusetts on March 23, 1927. Robert was a retired electrical engineer who worked in Massachusetts. After retirement, he moved to Vermont and then moved to Lake Placid 23 years ago. Robert was an avid hunter who enjoyed fishing, wood working, music and loved to be with his family and friends; especially his grandchildren. Robert was a life member of the Lake Placid Elks Lodge 2661, Sons of Legion Placid Post 25 Lake Placid, Toby’s Clown Alley, and life member of Tau Kap Epsilon. Mr. Barrett was of the Catholic faith. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Eleanor; sons, David Barrett (wife Jean) and Michael Barrett; grandchildren, Kathleen and Kevin; sister, Carol Lapierre and brother, John Barrett. A service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the St. James Catholic Church 3380 Placid View Drive Lake Placid with Farther Victor Caviedes officiating.
