Obituary for Jeanie l> Prevatt (Lanier)

Jeanie L. Prevatt, 63, of Lake Placid went to be with her Lord on Sunday afternoon, December 4, 2016 at the Highlands Regional Medical Center in Sebring. A native Floridian, Jeanie was the daughter of Lucy (Smith) and Clyde Lanier, who was born on October 20, 1953 in Wauchula. Jeanie has been a resident of Highlands County since 1964. Jeanie had a passion for art and became a graphic arts designer who shared her knowledge with others. Jeanie enjoyed crafts, cooking for the family, going shopping and designing things for the house. She loved spending time with her friends and family especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Prevatt was of the Baptist faith and attended the First Baptist Church of Placid Lakes. Jeanie is survived by her loving husband of 27 years Rainey; daughters, Crystal Gail Anderson and Cressie Lucille Johnson; son, Daniel C. Harrison. Mrs. Prevatt was known as the number one Granny to her 5 grandchildren, Tamara, Wyatt, Ashten, Isabella and Eli. She is also survived by her sister Joann Chandler and brothers, Richard and Robert Lanier. A funeral service to celebrate Jeanie’s life will be held 12 Noon, Friday, December 9, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Placid Lakes, 116 Cleveland Avenue NE, Lake Placid with Rev. Jeffery Taylor and Rev. Rufus Caraway officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00 AM to 12 Noon at the church. Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Placid.
