Eric Allen Lorenz
Eric Allen Lorenz, 43, of Sebring FL went to be with his Lord on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at his residence after a brief battle with cancer. The son of Larry Lorenz and Patricia Storti, Eric was born on July 2, 1973 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Eric had a passion for cooking which lead him to earning an Associate Degree from the Culinary Institute of Minnesota and a career as a chef. Eric moved to the Highlands County area ten years ago from Minneapolis and started working for local restaurants where he met the love of his life. Eric enjoyed golf, and skiing. His passions for hiking, fishing, and camping in the outdoors lead him through the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in Minnesota and the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina. Despite his Florida homestead he was still a loyal and passionate Vikings fan, scouring places to catch the games whenever possible. Eric was a devoted husband and father who loved nothing more than the company of his family and friends. Eric was of the Catholic faith. Eric is survived by his loving wife, Colleen Lorenz; daughter, Sophia Lorenz; and his parents Patricia Storti, Larry Lorenz (Rebecca Strandlund); brother, Nathan Schleicher (Eve); parents-in-law Kurt and Monica Kuttner, and brother-in-law Nick Kuttner; Jimi Lorenz; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his sister Rachel and all of his grandparents. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Eric will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Scott Funeral Home in Lake Placid followed by a gathering at Placid Lakes Country Club.
