Obituary for Thomas Frederick "Tom" Scott

Thomas Fred Scott “Tom”, 71, of Lake Placid went to be with Jesus on Tuesday morning May 9, 2017 at his residence. Tom was one of eleven children who was born to Elizabeth (May) and Robert Scott, on June 24, 1945 in Carnegie, PA. Tom was a retired project manager in the building and construction industry moving here from Carnegie 30 years ago. Tom, who never knew a stranger, enjoyed helping people with his handyman skills. He also enjoyed fishing, a good game of billiards, and the gardens around his home. Tom loved to be around his family and friends. Tom was a man of deep faith who lived his life through his birth verse Ephesians 6:24 “Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.” Tom was a member of the First Presbyterian Church Lake Placid. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Agnes, Betty, Ilene and Caroline, brothers; Kenny, Billy, Ray, Bob and Jimmy. He is survived by his loving wife of 6 years Vonnie, daughter: Amy Scott Ervin (Edward), 2 sons: Thomas and Stephen Scott, 2 grandsons: Mason and Hayden, a sister Shirley Benard; his dog Brandy and his cat Tootsie. A service to celebrate Tom’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, May 12, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church Lake Placid 118 N. Oak Avenue, Lake Placid with Rev. Ray Cameron officiating. The family suggest donations in Tom’s memory to the New Testament Church and Mission 604 Lemon Avenue Sebring, FL 33870-6915.
