Mamie Jo  Osteen
Mamie Jo Osteen, 82, of Lake Placid went to be with her Lord early Monday morning May 15, 2017 at the Lake Placid Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Osteen was the daughter of Minnie Lee Ratliff and Charlie Elverton Sadler who was born on February 16, 1935 in Perry, FL. She has been a long time resident of Highlands County moving to the Lake Placid area from Avon Park 64 years ago. Both she and her husband R. L. Osteen were the owners of the Osteen Bait Shop in Lake Placid. Mrs. Osteen enjoyed going to church, fishing, singing in the choir and attending Sunday school. Mrs. Osteen loved to be with her family and friends especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Osteen is preceded in death by her loving husband R.L. Osteen. She is survived by her loving children; Peggy Delaney, Betty Osteen Pollard, Robert Osteen, Charlie Osteen and Randy Osteen, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a brother Edward Sadler. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with funeral services to celebrate Mrs. Osteen’s life following at 11:00 AM at the Placid Temple Church of God, 51 Lake June Road, Lake Placid where Mrs. Osteen was a member. Rev. Dennis West will be officiating the service. Mrs. Osteen will be laid to rest next to her husband R.L. Osteen at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Placid.
