Obituary for Kay L. Roberts

Kay L. Roberts, 79, of Lake Placid went to be with her Lord on Saturday evening at her residence. Kay was the daughter of Louise Rupple and William Nicklaus who was born on December 16, 1937 in Zanesville, OH. Kay moved to Lake Placid in 1980 from Hollywood, FL. She started working for the Goodwill Industries retail store, working her way up to manger before retiring with 19 years of employment. Kay was very active in the community; she helped with the mural society with there first mural, was a member of the Lake Placid Noon Rotary Club where she served on board, the scholarship selection committee and the Wild Game Dinner committee. Kay could always be found working at the many civic and community events held in the area. Kay never knew a stranger, she enjoyed being able to help other people and loved to be with her family and many friends. Kay is survived by her loving children, Stacy Jones and Clay Bryant, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sister; Lynne Henderson and a brother; Mike Nicklaus. Kay was a member for many years at the Memorial United Methodist Church in Lake Placid. The family suggests donations in Kay’s memory to the Lake Placid Noon Rotary Club Scholarship Fund, call for details 863-840-0757.
