Anita Pickett-Samelak, 88, of Lake Placid went to be with her Lord on Saturday morning May 27, 2017 at her residence. Anita was the daughter of Amonse (Davis) and Charles deNourie who was born in 1928 in Melbourne, FL.

Anita was a food service manager and baker with the public school system retiring with many years of employment working first in Miami and later in Lake Placid. She was widely known for her skills in making yummy yeast rolls and cinnamon twists! Along with Earl, they began building their house in Lake Placid in 1972, where they later moved from Miami. Anita enjoyed working around the children, camping and traveling, and loved to be with her family and friends especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Anita is preceded in death by both her first husband Earl Pickett and her second husband Lenny Samelak. She is survived by her loving sons: Bruce Pickett (Sharon) and Glenn Pickett (Susie); step-daughters, Janet Ritter and Patricia Anne Thorpe; 5 grandchildren, Ron, Mark, Jonathan, Ryan, and Christopher and 3 great-grandchildren, Morgan, Joshua, & Emily.
