Obituary for Margaret Hagan Causey

Margaret Hagan Causey, 89, of Lake Placid went to be with her Lord early Tuesday morning July 18, 2017 at the Vitas Hospice Unit in Sebring. Margaret was the daughter of Margaret (Dunn) and Dorsey Yates Hagan who was born on August 18, 1927 in Bristol, TN. Mrs. Causey has been a resident of Venus and Lake Placid since 2000. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Causey enjoyed gardening, reading, and collecting antique novelties and loved spending time with her family and friends especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her loving husband James, daughter; Margaret Gause and son; James M. Causey, Mrs. Causey is survived by her loving son; David Yates Causey (Victoria), grandchildren Victoria Anne (Vazquez), Charlotte Hewitt (Smith), Ashley Hagan Causey, and Rachel Cantrill (Campbell), great grandchildren Lydia Victoria, Yan David Vazquez, Diamond and Ashlee, son-in-law; Paul D. Gause, Jr. (Elsie), grandchildren Paul D. Gause, III (Priscilla), Angela L. Gause, and James Nathan Gause, Grandchildren John Michael Causey, James Causey, and Joseph Causey, brother, Nelson S. Hagan. A funeral service to celebrate Margaret’s life will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Venus United Methodist Church 962 County Road 731 Venus, FL with Rev. Bill Petersen officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow the service at the Venus Cemetery. A service to celebrate Margaret’s life will be held in Conway, SC in September.
