Harley William Albritton, 79, of Venus went home to be with his Lord on Monday morning July 24, 2017 at his residence. A native of Lake Placid, Harley was the son of Ethel Lee Crews and William H. Albritton who was born on February 12, 1938. Mr. Albritton served his country with honors in the US Army. Mr. Albritton was a retired truck driver who took care of the family business and worked the ranch. Harley enjoyed all outdoor activities including fishing, hunting, and walking. He played on the basketball team during high school for the Lake Placid Dragons. He loved being with his family and friends especially his grandchildren and great-grandson. He is survived by his loving wife Martha of 52 years, his only daughter; Kayla Joy Wright (Stacey), sons; Myron(Sheila) and Paul (Candy) Albritton, 7 grandchildren and one great-grandson and a brother; Harold (Janet) Albritton. Harley was of the Christian faith and a member of the American Legion Placid Post 25. A service to celebrate Mr. Albritton’s life will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Venus United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack White, Rev. Mike Ford and Rev. Bill Petersen officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service time. Military honors will be provided by the VFW Post 4300 Honor Guard. Burial will follow in the Venus Cemetery.
