Obituary for Dennis Herman Mann

Dennis Herman Mann, 79, of Lake Placid formally of Clewiston went to be with his Lord on Friday evening August 4, 2017 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring. Dennis was born on August 14, 1937 to parents Bernice (Struckhoff) and George Mann in St. Louis, MO. Dennis served his county with honors in the US Army during Korea. After serving in the military, Dennis earned a bachelors degree in chemistry. While working as a chemist, Dennis invented Titie Bowl Toilet Cleaner, which became a household name. For sixty years Dennis had a passion for cooking which led him into the restaurant business. He started out in Clewiston and them move here to Lake Placid and started the Happy Chef Diner here in Lake Placid. Dennis enjoyed cooking and fishing and loved to spend time with his family and friends. Dennis was a member of the St. James Catholic Church in Lake Placid. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Linda and a son; Dennis “Steven” Mann. A service to celebrate Dennis’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid with Father Anthonio Jean officiating. Military Honors will be presented by the US Army Honor Guard. Burial will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Placid.
