Obituary for Ed H. Long Jr.

Ed Long, Jr., 70, of Lake Placid, FL born December 24, 1946, in Redding, CA, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday afternoon September 19, 2017 at the Highlands Regional Medical Center in Sebring. Ed was the son of Sara (Ebby) and Ed Long Sr. Ed worked for many years in the health care industry as a CNA caring for his patients while working at the Kenilworth Care and Rehabilitation Center in Sebring. Ed move to Lake Placid 25 years ago from Virginia and was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed many activities including fishing, bowling, a good game of darts and cooking his favorite meals for his family. Ed loved spending time with his family and friends especially his grand and great-grandchildren. Ed is preceded in death by his son JT Wiggins, mother; Sara L. Hodges, father; Edsell, step mother; Ruth Long. He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Rosemary, daughters: Sarah Foutz, Billie Jo Long and Angela Hindelang, sons: Philip Long, Chris Wiggins and Keith Goodwin, 17 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, sister; Dottie Lanzl, and brothers; Don and Del Hodges and many nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Ed’s life will be held 6:00 PM, Thursday (today), September 21, 2017 with Chaplain Pablo Dellepere officiating.
