Obituary for David Paul Kocik

David Paul Kocik, 56, of Lake Placid formerly of Lehigh Acres went home to be with his Lord Friday evening September 15, 2017 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring. David was the son of June (Fisk) and Joseph Kocik, he was born on January 7, 1961 in Binghamton, NY. David has been a weekend resident of Lake Placid for the past 9 years and became a permanent resident in the last year. David worked in the air conditioning and maintenance fields. He was an avid fisherman and sports fan, following the Yankees, N.Y. Giants and Syracuse University. He loved weekends cooking, boating, and playing poker with his friends and family. David is preceded in death by his sister, Karen. He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years Helen, mother; June Kocik, father; Joseph Kocik (Alice), sister; Terry Staudt (Steve Crapser), brother: Scott (Shari Coontz), step-sisters; Michelle Mayes (Daniel) and Maria Elena (and husband Chris Agnew), step-brother; Nicholas English (Nancy), several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and his three dogs; Wylie, Jack and Molly. A service to celebrate David’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at St. James Catholic Church, 3380 Placid View Dr., Lake Placid, Florida.
