Roy Stanley  Lesky
Roy Stanley Lesky, 71, of Sebring went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday morning October 10, 2017 at his residence. Roy was the son of Lillian (McGraw) and Julius Lesky who was born on August 21, 1946 in Miami, Florida. Roy was a Boy Scout who earned his Eagle Badge in 1963. After graduating North Miami High School, Roy joined the US Army, stationed in Alaska where he would drive the returning Generals from Vietnam. He received an honorable discharge from the US Army, and then went to work in the electrical industry as a chief electrician. He retired from Florida Power and Light in Miami after 42 years of employment. Roy moved to Sebring nine years ago from Miami. Roy had a passion for antique cars and enjoyed going to the local car shows in the area. He also enjoyed the entertainment at the casinos. Roy loved spending time with his wife Bonnie, his friends and extended family. He was very active with the youth group at the First Presbyterian Church of Sebring where he was a member. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Bonnie, a sister; Judy Zelinski, a brother; Paul Lesky, nieces: Cindy, Kimberly, Carrie and Jill and several grand nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Roy’s life will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the Scott Funeral Home 504 W. Interlake Blvd. Lake Placid with Rev. Darrell Peer officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Roy’s memory to the First Presbyterian Church of Sebring Youth Group 319 Poinsettia Avenue Sebring, FL 33870, the Alzheimer’s Association 800-272-3900 or the charity of your choice.
