Obituary for Esther S. Johnson

Esther Johnson, 89, of Lake Placid went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring. Esther was the daughter of Kathryn (Kaskie) and Robert Smoogen who was born on September 21, 1928 in Elysburg, Pennsylvania. Esther was a retired legal secretary working for Corning Inc. in Corning, NY. Esther was a seasonal resident of the Lake Placid area for 27 years, becoming a permit resident 20 years ago after moving here from Hammondsport, NY. Esther was a member of the St. James Catholic Church. She enjoyed being at her lake cottage, gardening and being involved with her church. She loved being with her family and friends especially her extended family. Esther is preceded in death by both her husbands, Anthony Connolly and Robert S. Johnson. She is survived by her loving daughter; Christine Partridge and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Esther’s life will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the St. James Catholic Church 3880 Placid View Drive with Father Anthonio Jean officiating. Esther will be laid to rest in the St. James Gardens.
