Charles Warren "Warren" Wolfe
Charles Warren Wolfe, “Warren”, 70 , of Lake Placid went home to be with his Lord on Thursday evening, December 28, 2017 at the Vitas Hospice Unit in Deerfield, Beach, FL. Charles was the son of Ruth Chapin Wolfe and Charles Warren Wolfe Sr., who was born on November 18, 1947 in Daytona Beach, FL. Warren spent most of his young life growing up in Tallahassee. Charles graduated from FSU with a Bachelor in Law Enforcement and continued his education receiving a Masters from Nova Southeastern University. He served 32 years as a Deputy Sherriff in Broward County, then served 10 years as a Reserve Office with the Town of Lake Placid Police Department. At the same time Warren served his country with honors with 24 years of service in the US Army Reserve retiring with the rank of Sgt. Major. After his retirement in Broward County, Warren purchased Woody’s RV Resort in Sebring. Warren was a active member in the community belonging to many civic and veterans organizations including the VFW Post 3880 as a life member, American Legion Placid Post 25 as a life member, Placid Lodge 282 F & AM, 32 Degree Scottish Rite Mason Lake Placid Moose Lodge, the Lake Placid Elks Lodge, Eagles, Highlands County Republican Party and Highlands County Tea Party. Warren enjoyed both local and national politics and in the past few years cruising. He loved to be around his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife Sherryl, son: Christopher Wolfe (Alycia), granddaughter: Caitlyn Wolfe, stepchildren: Kevin Miles (Sebrina), Sarah Foley (Terry), step-grandchildren; Nathan Lendermon, Nicholas Lendermon, Trance Miles and Tyler Foley. Warren was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church where funeral service to celebrate his life where held 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, January 2, 2018 with Masonic services by the Placid Lodge 282 F & AM and Rev. Jerry McCauley officiating. A visitation for family and friends was held one hour prior to service time. Charles will be laid to rest at the Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota with military honors provided by the US Army Honor Guard 1:30 PM, Wednesday (Today) January 3, 2017. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his honor to the Lake Placid Masonic Lodge, 103 North Main St., Lake Placid, FL 33852.
