Obituary for Henry S. "Hank" Miles

Henry S. Miles, 63 of Lake Placid died Wednesday, January 10, 2018. “The Hankster” was born on July 13, 1954 in Indianapolis, to Barbara (Miller) and Robert (‘Tab’) Miles. In his younger years he worked in the family telephone business in Sunman, Indiana, and moved to Lake Placid in 1992 to build and operate the Royal Palms Bowling Center. He enjoyed the game of golf, sporty cars, Harley Davidsons and his cats. Hank was a loyal Indianapolis Colts and Indiana University Hoosiers fan. Hank will be remembered by those who knew him as a truly great friend who would do anything he could to help and the kind of neighbor everyone loved. He was quick with a friendly smile, a helping hand, and if needed, a witty comeback. He was a supporter of local business and believed in shopping locally. He leaves behind his “loving” wife Joyce, sister Cindy Bruns (Warren), brother Robert (Sam), nephews Chad Miles (Jennie) and Tim Miles (Toni), David Bruns (April), Eric Bruns (Erin), Jon Bruns and niece Lisa Lawrence (Darrell), step-daughter Kelly Cairns (Rebecca Johnson) and many great nieces and great nephews, step-grandchildren and many friends. In memory of Hankster, please consider contributing to the Salvation Army, 3135 Kenilworth Blvd., Sebring, FL 33870 or to a charity of your choice.
