William “Alfred” Hendry, 74, of Venus, FL went to be with his Lord on Wednesday night September 30, 2015 at the Bay Pines VA Medical Center. Alfred was the son of Josephine Albritton and Alfred Hendry who was born on September 9, 1941in Sebring, FL. After graduating from Marathon High School, Alfred served his country with honors in the US Army during Vietnam. Alfred was a retired commercial fisherman. Alfred was an avid race fan who enjoyed working with antique cars and loved spending time with his family and friends. Alfred was a life long resident of Southwest Florida moving to Venus in 1993. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Trudy; daughter Mary K. Bucel (Daryle); son, Alfred Hendry (Michele); five grandchildren, Robbie Turner (Ashley), Georgia and Katie Bucel, Shelby and Amber Hendry; three great-grandchildren, Nash and Emme Turner and Kaiden Graham. A graveside service to celebrate Alfred’s life will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at the Venus Cemetery.
