Jonathan Bruce Nichol, 67, of Lake Placid went to be with his Lord on Tuesday morning December 25, 2012 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring. He was born on January 28, 1945 in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada to parents Katherine (Kaufman) and Bruce Nichol. A retired building contractor he moved to Lake Placid from Miami in 1977. He was of the Christian faith and member of the Community Church of God in Lake Placid. Mr. Nichol was an avid sports fan who enjoyed swimming, local football and baseball games and was a member of CORA where he spent time working out. Mr. Nichol loved spending time with his family and friends. Jonathan was preceded in death by his loving wife Janet and he is survived by his loving children, Jennifer Bussey of Lake Placid, Jessica Nichol, Jackie Nichol both of Sebring, Jeri Nichol and Jason Nichol both of Lake Placid; 6 grandchildren; mother, Katherine; 3 sisters, Shelia Weber, Nancy LaFountian and Lorna Nichol. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00 AM to 12 Noon this Saturday December 29, 2012 with a funeral service to celebrate Mr. Nichol’s life to follow at 12 Noon at the Scott Funeral Home, 504 W. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid with Pastor Andrew Katsanis officiating. Burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
