Wanda J. Vaught, 85, of Lake Placid went to be with her Lord on Wednesday morning June 10th, 2015 at the Lake Placid Health and Rehabilitation Center. The daughter of Hattie C. Drawdy and Leroy Johnson, she was born on September 10th, 1929 in Tice, FL. Wanda moved to Lake Placid in 1991 from Belle Glade, FL., where she and her late husband were active in the Elks Lodge and the American Legion. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, spending time in her ceramic shop and playing bingo. She also loved spending time with her family and friends. Wanda was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Henry A. Vaught, Jr.; mother and father; two sisters, Juanita White and Voncile Jones; two brothers, D. W. and Leroy Johnson; and son in law, Charlie Bishop. She is survived by her three daughters, Renee Bishop, Denise (Bill) Williams and Sandra (Billy) Hatton; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate Wanda’s life will be held on Saturday, June 27th, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Alpine Village ROC Clubhouse, located on SR 70 East.
