Charles Daniel Groff
Charles Daniel Groff, 82, of Lake Placid went to be with his Lord early Wednesday morning December 21, 2016 at The Oaks at Avon in Avon Park, FL. Charles was the son of Martha (Dale) and Charles Groff who was born on June 20, 1934 in New York, New York. Charles served his country with honors in both the US Navy and the US Air Force. After his service to his country, Charles went to work with Pan American Air Lines as a mechanic and later working for Eastern Airlines in Miami. After retiring, Charles moved to Lake Placid from Ft. Lauderdale 2002. Charles was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed fishing, watching old westerns on TV and collecting knives. Charles loved to spend time with his family and friends especially his grand and great-grand children. Charles is survived by his loving daughters, Jacquelene Groff, Helen Fletcher (Scott), Tina Groff and Kathleen Hannah (David); sons, Scott, Charles and Michael (Pattie); grandchildren, Kelly, Michael, Brian, Cristina, Britney, Jessica and Mary and eight great-grandchildren. As per Charles wishes, a service to celebrate his life will be private for the family only.
