Life Story for Frank Vara

Frank Vara
Frank Vara, 86, of Lake Placid went to be with his Lord on Sunday morning, November 6, 2016 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Sebring, Florida. Frank was the son of Lena (Sasso) and Frank Vara Sr. and the youngest of 12 siblings. He was born on August 14, 1930 in the Bronx, NY. Frank was a repair serviceman who could repair most anything. After retiring, Frank and his wife moved to Florida from Bronx 30 years ago. Frank enjoyed being outdoors, sailing, traveling in his RV, riding his motorcycle and playing a good game of billiards or dominoes.

Frank loved to be with his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife Lois; daughters, Sharon Canapini, Debra Vigilo, Dona Byron, and son Frank Vara Jr.; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a sister, Millie Sconza and a brother Nick Vara. Also 6 step-children: David Baker, Sharon (Baker) Smith, Daniel Baker, Cheryl Baker, Deb (Baker) Matero and Donna Baker. A service to celebrate Frank’s life will be held at a later date.
The family suggests donations in Frank’s memory to Good Shepherd Hospice, 1110 Hammock Rd., Sebring, FL 33870.
