The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Frank Vara can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

30 plus years ago

Thirty plus years ago I was at the Croton Yacht club were  we kept our family  boat.after taking  a afternoon  spin on the beautiful  Hudson  River an upon mooring  the boat I noticed  a new face across the docks. there  was this nice gentleman  sitting  in his boat an asked me if I would have a drink  with  him, back then  I was a bit shy  (yes me shy) beside I knew he was 20 years  my senior .and my Dad had passed about  4 or 5 years at a very young age, which left my mom still a very attractive  young lady in her 40's very much available  with lots of love to give.So I said" thank you  but I have to go" an I went to my mom's  house, where  she was preparing  dinner for my younger sister's,to tell her about this handsome, nice gentlemen  at the yacht  club  and to go down  and check on the boat an meet this nice man who  know,  known  as  Frank Vara.  needless  to say anymore. there relationship  kindled right there on the Hudson  River at the  Croton  yacht  club.and both of there  love  of sailing and each other, some thirty plus years ago.Love you an miss you Pops R.I.P.
